Greenwheel Electric Submits Planning Application For Lomondgate Electric Vehicle Charging And Business Hub

Lomondgate Charging and Business Hub

The Electric Vehicle Charging Hub provider, Greenwheel Electric, are delighted to confirm that we have submitted a planning application for a new EV charging and business hub at Lomondgate. The announcement follows a period of engagement by the company within the local community to hear what local people and businesses would like to see at the new hub.

The application, which has been submitted to West Dunbartonshire Council, is for permission to build an EV charging hub with 18 charging bays, which will supply low-cost, ultra-rapid charging from 100% renewable energy, alongside business-focused office meeting spaces and a local retail outlet. The land is owned by the Strathleven Foundation, a charity that works in the Lomondgate area for the benefit of local people.

Speaking after the planning application was submitted, Managing Director Jason McCall said:

“Today marks a milestone in our journey to create a new EV charging and business hub at Lomondgate, which is the gateway to the north. We originally envisaged submitting our plans in September, but we have taken some additional time to ensure that the final design of our hub reflects the feedback we have received over the summer from local people and organisations.

“It is important to us that we deliver a destination hub that works for the wider community and our end users, is powered by renewable sources, and provides convenient access for private and business users. We are confident that our design achieves all of this and that the hub will be an asset for locals and tourists alike.”
